Australian Unity Overseas Visitor Health Cover

If you're making plans to visit or work in Australia, getting an appropriate level of health cover (also known as health insurance) may be a requirement for your visa.

Even if you don’t need health insurance for your visa, it can be a good idea to still get it. Getting sick or having an accident can happen at any time so having health insurance can help pay for unexpected medical costs when you’re in Australia.

Australian Unity offers a range of Overseas Visitor Health Covers depending on your budget and requirements. The products are called either ‘Visitors Covers’ or ‘Workers Covers’. Please note: Australian Unity’s Visitors Covers do not meet the minimum adequate health insurance requirements for Visa condition 8501. Australian Unity’s Workers Covers do meet these requirements.

We offer affordable health insurance that can cover towards a wide range of services and treatments including:

  • Doctor and specialist fees
  • Hospital treatment, including accommodation and theatre fees
  • Emergency ambulance
  • Day surgery and procedures
